Thank goodness for great friends

Tonight I went to TGIFridays with a group of gals from church for one last Brownie Obsession before my friend Shawna moves to Utah. We laughed, we cried and we took some pictures. I am so grateful for my friends. It is so great to have people you can talk to about anything. I was looking around the table tonight and found myself getting emotional when I thought about the ladies sitting with me. Some are new friends and some I've known for years. These are good times. The kind I want to remember forever.

Heavenly Father has sent me such wonderful people in my life.

Shawna is such a sweet friend. She is always there with a listening ear. She's willing to just listen to my woes and help me wipe away my tears. She's the kind of friend that leaves notes on your door just because she thought of you that day. The kind of friend that is genuinely interested in what's going on in your life. She is so funny and happy and smart. I will miss her greatly. I wish her well on her new adventure. Love ya Shawna!

A small miracle

Juan and I had been hoping to go to Houston to visit Juan's family in August. Well with the price of tickets and a hotel we had just accepted the fact that we would not be able to afford it... and then a little miracle.

Someone gave us a travel voucher for the exact amount of 2 tickets to Houston. I couldn't believe it. Just writing about it now makes me emotional. We haven't seen Juan's brothers and sister for several years and only his mom and dad have met Carmen, but even they haven't seen her since she was a month old.

I know Heavenly Father is aware of each of us. I know he knows what is in our hearts. He sends us miracles both great and small. This is my little miracle.

H-town, here we come!

What happened to me?!?!

Holy cow! It's been a little crazy the last couple of weeks. Crazy at work, crazy after work... but I'm back and I've got some pictures to share!

Carmen has discovered tub bathing. She has only taken showers with us because she hated her little tub with a passion! But she loves splashing in the tub and playing with her little froggies.

She sure does love her daddy!

This is Maddie, Sandi's cat, sleeping in the window behind the couch. She looks quite comfy, doesn't she?
